Southwest winds between 10 to 20 mph will gust of 30 to 35 mph. Meanwhile, temperatures climb into the low 80s with minimum relative humidities near 20 percent. This environment is favorable for rapid fire growth and spread.
Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 002 Ontonagon, Fire Weather Zone 004 Baraga, Fire Weather Zone 009 Gogebic, Fire Weather Zone 010 Iron and Fire Weather Zone 084 Southern Houghton.
Timing: From 1 PM EDT /noon CDT/ this afternoon to 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ this evening.
Winds: Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Relative Humidity: As low as 20 percent.
Impacts: Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
